10th Wedding Anniversary • Acadia/Bar Harbor Maine

Winter Harbor, Acadia, Maine

We love Acadia. Sara lived in Bar Harbor for a few years when she was in her 20’s (she lived on a boat!!) and I’ve been addicted to Acadia since the first time I went - I love the area so much.

We went to Acadia for our honeymoon back in 2011, and we’ve been many times since then but for our 10th anniversary we booked a week at a campground and brought our little pop-up motorcycle camper.

Our Time-Out motorcycle camper

If you have never seen a Time Out before, they are glorious. They are made to be towed by motorcycles but small cars, like my Toyota Yaris, can tow it. It might look small, but it can unfold into a giant raised platform camping tent:

Queen-size sleeping area, plus a whole big space for chairs, a table and storage. Time Out campers rule!

We take our time when we head up to Bar Harbor and stop at various places (Sid’s always looking for thrift shops) and we always have a good time on the road while driving.

Pit stop at the Big Chicken Barn Antiques in Ellsworth, Maine

After a long ride near the Pretty Marshes in Acadia.

We love biking all the rail trails in Acadia, especially the carriage roads. We load the bikes up with fluids and snacks and we’ll bike and bike and bike. Everything is beautiful in Acadia and biking is such a fantastic way to see everything.

Sara reads while we set lights up in the pop-up awning we have in front of the Time Out camper.

The weather was perfect the whole week we were there, and we can’t wait to go back again and bask in the beauty and serenity of Acadia and the hustle/bustle of Bar Harbor when it’s filled with tourists. :)
